While I was preparing myself to work on my undergraduate project, I had to go through a difficult surgery on my back due to a spinal deformity. After the surgery, I taped all of my MRI and X-ray films from my back on my bedroom window and started drawing them in small sizes while I was in recovery. I was trying to copy myself to show the pain I had. It was the first time I began painting freely and used happenings in my work. That happened with splashing paint on the canvas. In the beginning, I would use black, white, and cobalt-like X-ray films but later the paintings turned to black and white. I used nonsense English words to show my feelings towards those medical terms which I never understood in the films. Later I figured I intended to paint freely in these series of work because in reality my body movements were limited, and painting was the only place to be free.
